Too wonderful for me, #2

Job 26 is a brief yet beautiful chapter describing the awesome and humbling power of God, inviting man to compare himself next to the majesty and power of the Almighty and to recognize the difference.

After a number of simply elegant expressions, painting a picture of the incomparable power & absolute sovereignty of God, the passage concludes in a single verse that, for me, represents knowledge that is too wonderful for me:

Indeed these are the mere edges of His ways,
And how small a whisper we hear of Him!
But the thunder of His power who can understand?

Job 26:14

“the mere edges of His ways”…  “how small a whisper we hear of Him”…  Wow.  I hope that regardless of how many wondrous and breathtaking things I learn about the world around me and how many astonishing marvels of His Creation I experience in my life — all wrought by the Father through the hands of the One now called Jesus Christ — I hope I never lose sight of the fact that these represent the mere edges of His ways, and how small a whisper we actually hear of Him.

I have often felt so inadequate in praising God, because I feel that I can only begin to barely grasp a tiny bit of who and what He is. But I could never quite express it in words. This verse, Job 26:14, expresses it perfectly. Thank you.
