Winter weather on the way…
Sorry not to have written, yesterday, but I spent most of the time in Kansas City and on the road between here and there. The office troll in me is pleased to be back in his cave and at the keyboard. However, I must say that I feel compelled to do something outside, today, given that we are in for some seriously wintery weather. As a Texan, I have been warned that Missouri can boast such, but we haven’t seen much, yet, in our year-and-a-half here. Perhaps January or February will have it in for us!
Our older son saw the animated snowflakes on the Friday forecast while watching the Weather Channel this morning, so the cat is out of the bag. Snow to a young Texan is sort of like the King Arthur’s Holy Grail–you’ve heard lots of great stories about it, but you figure they’re all just stories. Actually, our kids have experienced snow in Texas, and did so, as well, during a few days last year in Kansas City, so they know enough to know that it can be a lot of fun, but not enough to know just how much fun it can be. If that makes sense.
I’m just happy to have four eager boys I can hand the snow shovels to (if it were to come to that).
So with some days of “stay indoors” weather threatening on the horizon, I will probably put off some of my writing until tomorrow. And I’m chomping at the bit to comment on a whole host of things, too! In fact, I’m not entirely sure I will be able to resist. We’ll see…
